SMOKED MOTHER OF PEARL

Mother of Pearl is the common name for “Nacre” which coats the inside of the oyster shell. Strong and iridescent it has a long history of decorative use as inlays as far back as 2600BC in Mesopotamia and China. The smoked variety has grey tones and is stunning when paired with precious metals. It is a symbolic stone of good fortune being linked to prosperity which is why it was given as a good luck token over the centuries.
